Our Museum Exhibits

Museum Collection

The exhibits at LeRoy Heritage Museum feature objects from LeRoy Township, Canton Township and Borough, Granville Township, and former Barclay Township (Barclay Mountain) including Laquin, all in Bradford County, Pennsylvania. We feature the largest collection of objects from the abandoned community of Laquin that can found in any museum. These include items from the Barclay house, the Laquin Store, the Baptist Church, the mills, the Laquin baseball team, and more. You can learn about coal mining, lumbering and agriculture in our valley and on the mountain as well as the work done by the Civilian Conservation Corps and by the Game Refuge Keeper at Sunfish Pond. The lowest numbered game lands in Pennsylvania can be found on our mountain and visitors have the opportunity to learn about the work of the game commission over the years. When the coal mining town of Barclay was at its height in population, LeRoy was a booming town with hotels, stores, churches, lodges, multiple schools, and mills of all variety. As the largest and closest town to the mountain, LeRoy hosted visits from coal miners and lumbermen looking to relax during their time off. See an excellent collection of LeRoy history with some items dating back over 200 years. Our Canton exhibit contains personal possessions that belonged to the famous actors, actresses, circus performers and other nationally known people that made southwestern Bradford County their home.
