Activities Available Throughout the Day

Featured Programs During the Day

  • 10:00 am - Event begins.
  • 11:15 am – 12:45 pm - Noggin Hill band providing Bluegrass and Old Time music on the grounds.
  • 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm - Coal Mining, presented by Kyle Fowler under the main program tent
  • 2:15 pm – 3:15 pm - Laquin, presented by Matt Carl under the main program tent
  • Event ends at 3:30 p.m.

Demonstrations and Display Booths

In addition to the main programs, there are several demonstrations and displays both outside and inside the community building next to the museum. Some of these include: Pennsylvania Game Commission, Pennsylvania Lumber Museum, Bradford County Historical Society exhibit of Barclay Mountain photos, railroad and canal history, Abandoned Pennsylvania Coal Mines featuring antique coal mining equipment, natural gas and pipeline information, Che-Hanna Rock & Mineral Club, Susquehanna Autobahn Society, Endless Mountains Primitive Outdoorsmen, private collections, and more!

LeRoy Heritage Museum Exhibits & Gift Shop

The brand new LeRoy Heritage Museum and gift shop will be open a short walk from the event grounds where there are new exhibits. Pick up Barclay Mountain history books. The first 50 people whose ancestors lived on or worked on the mountain, or who had a cabin on the mountain can get a free limited edition Barclay Mountain Heritage Day button to wear, signifying that their family is connected to the history of the mountain.

Enjoy an hour and a half of Bluegrass and old time music performed live by the Noggin Hill band.

What to Expect and What to Bring with You

Admission

There is no admission fee but any donations and proceeds raised from the event will go toward the work of local history preservation by LeRoy Heritage Museum. We suggest bringing a donation for the museum which can be given at the entrance to the museum or at the program tent. Suggested admission donation for the museum is $5.00 per adult. Age 18 and under are free. Thank you for your support!

Credit Card Processing Now Available at Our New Museum

While there is no credit card processing available at the event site, we now accept all major forms of payment at our new museum just up the street.

Bring Camping Chairs

Limited seating will be available for programming under the large program tent. We encourage you to bring your camping chairs and stay all day to take advantage of all the great activities planned. Food and entertainment available all day!

Location & Parking

The event is located at 8 miles east of Canton off Route 414 at 257 Mill Street in LeRoy (257 Mill Street, Canton, PA 17724). The GPS coordinates are 41.674770760732116, -76.70716892296618. 


Plenty of parking is available on the lower fields to the south and west of the event grounds. Handicapped parking is available on Mill Street. Please do not block neighbors driveways. Feel free to drop off passengers at the event entrance and then park, especially for those unable to walk.


The museum itself is located at 10097 Route 414 in LeRoy.

Limited Edition BMHD 2022 Descendant Buttons

The first 50 people who visit our new museum building and provide information about their ancestor who lived or worked on the mountain in any way will be eligible to receive a free limited-edition button to wear during the day signifying that you are a descendant of a family connected with the mountain. It's our way of recognizing the old Barclay and Laquin reunions that were held years ago on the mountain. It's also a great conversation starter!

Event Will Be Held Rain or Shine

Barclay Mountain Heritage Day will be held rain for shine. The main programs are held under tents and most exhibitors are under tents. There are also several things to see inside the museum and neighboring community building should the weather be an issue. We recommend you also come prepared just in case.
